There is a driveway to our lake house that measures nearly a quarter mile, then it has various turns and trees that hang over the driveway.
When the people I was with and I moved in, the previous owners had rope lights suspended on both sides of the driveway.
When the wind blew, the lights would sway, and it looked genuinely funky. I was talking to a neighbor, and I admired his lighting. I thought his in-ground lighting was so much nicer. If you went over the light, it would not pull the rest down… Since the people I was with and I could walk on the outdoor lighting and it would not break, the glancing blow of a tire would not affect it, but the only problem I had with the recessed outdoor lighting was that when it snowed, the lights would not be seen. The electrician said he could rig up some heat tapes that would go across the driveway. It would heat the driveway and be various feet on either side. This would keep the snow off the driveway and there would be no ice accumulation. This seemed high-priced, however I wanted safety. I told him I wanted to talk to our significant other and see what he thought, however he said he thought it would be nice to have small street lamps care about they had in the early 1900s. The electrician could certainly set them up as solar power. If the batteries died, they could be linked to our generator, and regardless of the weather, the driveway would be lit, and the lake house would have electric. The electrician thought our partner had come up with a good idea. Two weeks later, it looked care about they had built our driveway in the early 1900s.
