I want to move into a more energy efficient home later on this year. This thought has been running in my mind for a while now, but I have sentimental ties to the house that I already live in. However, the house that I live in is way too big for just me now that everyone has moved out. I’ve been thinking about turning the seasoned house into a boarding space. But, my dad made me realize just how much work it was going to be for me. I’ve kind of decided that I don’t want to do that after all. Now that I have decided that I’m going to sell the seasoned house, I’m in the market for a new more energy efficient home. The main thing that I’m looking for is a high efficiency heating and cooling unit. I hate having to pay high HVAC expenses monthly and want something that is going to be very cheap. Basically, I want a new house that has radiant heated flooring and a high efficiency a/c system. My mom does not entirely care about any of that, though, and she just wants a home that has some good views and a wood burning fireplace. She told me the other afternoon that she would not mind having radiant heated flooring in the powder rooms, but as long as it has some kind of a/c during the summer seasons, the rest isn’t that crucial.
