Customer service goes a long way in giving you a fantastic reputation as a business, regardless of whatever product and/or service that you provide people.
- If there is one industry in which this seems to ring the most, it has to be the service industry, but in certain, the restaurant industry.
Let myself and others provide you an example that I have personally experienced. In most restaurants, you honestly would not expect to be obliged if you asked your waiter or server to adjust the temperature on the thermostat. They will officially provide you with an excuse such as, the thermostat is programmable as well as cannot be changed, or they do not have the authority to change the thermostat. Furthermore, they may even tell you that they will adjust the temperature when they have no intention of doing so. It would seem to take a lot of complaints for the restaurant staff to take a plea for a temperature adjustment seriously. However, that is absolutely not the case at this down-loft Southern cooking restaurant that I frequent. Southern hospitality is their daily mantra, as well as they take it really seriously! I have seen the restaurant manager himself come out as well as offer a blanket to an older woman who was complaining about the cold when it clearly wasn’t cold for the vast majority of other buyers in the restaurant. I have also noticed on a couple openings people remarking about the temperature on the thermostat. Instead of coming up with an excuse or a false promise, the wait staff will simply ask all the people in the area if they agree that the temperature is too high or low as well as adjust accordingly! Now that does not take much effort, but it makes every difference when it comes to endearing your buyers as well as facilitating their loyalty!
