The other afternoon my ten year old asked myself and others if he could spend the night at his best friend’s house… His best buddy had spent the night over at our home quite a few times over the years, however this was going to be the first time that he was going to be spending the night away from us; When he returned the next afternoon, this kid literally couldn’t stop talking about how nice the a/c was at his friend’s house.
All of us live in an severely old home that was built long before state of the art air conditioners were around, so I believe he just isn’t used to having a/c at his disposal all afternoon which is far from reality out at our location during the Summer months.
He was going on in addition to on about how nice it felt to come beach home to ice frigid air after running around outside all afternoon in addition to he slept the best he had ever slept before because obviously his buddy keeps it a frigid 65 degrees in the room. I hate to split it to you my son, but that is just not possible at our house. Perhaps I can get my kid a window a/c unit that the people I was with and I could use during the Summer months, even though I am sure that will pale in comparison to what his friends’ parents have, however oh well, the people I was with and I can’t always have what the people I was with and I want in addition to I believe this is my son’s first lesson with that. At least he had a great time at his first sleepover!
