I do not enjoy taking my car to be taken care of! It’s one of those responsibilities that I procrastinate with as long as possible because I detest it so much.
It is such an inconvenience to get around in my car, hassle with the mechanic, plus then drive back. It doesn’t sound as bad as it feels! The worst part about the whole ordeal is having to explain to the mechanic about what I want done. 99% of the time, I’m taking my car due to the fact that my check engine light has come on plus I need to get the oil topped off or my car will stop running. This last time I took my car was no exception. I’d been getting around as long as I could before I thought my car would stop running due to the insufficient oil, but as expected, the mechanic told me often that I should have my air filter substituted. I immediately told him no, however he highly recommended that the air filter needed to be substituted! When I still would not budge, he took out the air filter plus brought it over to me. I was shocked by what I could see! I could no longer see the mesh filter because it was covered in thick dust and debris. The dust was entirely black plus it was hanging off of the air filter. The mechanic informed me that if I wasn’t going to substitute the air filter, I would have to run the car without one because there was no use putting the old one back in; Once I saw the bad condition of the air filter though, I agreed to have it substituted. It was only a few extra dollars!
