Pushing myself too hard results in injury

I maintain a very good physical condition.

I exercise everyday & exert myself to improve flexibility, strength & stamina.

My training sessions typically last for about an hour and include a wide range of motions. I always start with a thorough warm up. I then transitioned to some type of weight lifting, followed by high intensity cardio. Along with a variety of exercises, I focus on including all parts of the body. I target my legs by running, cycling, lunges & squats. I concentrate on shoulders and arms by lifting hand weights, push ups, rowing & plank holds. I work my abs with crunches completed on an incline bench. I make sure of a whole-body workout by jumping rope. Because of my devotion to physical fitness, I can push myself too far. I don’t acknowledge my own limitations. I recently started a big home improvement project that included installing drywall on the ceiling. I held pieces of drywall on my head, & with my left hand, held the piece in position while using the cordless drill with my right hand. The drywall was heavy & caused me to damage my trapezius muscle. I suffered such severe pain that I was unable to stand up or walk around for more than a minute or two. I laid flat on my back on the couch for three weeks. I was unable to even switch to lying on my side due to the level of pain. I couldn’t manage to comb my own hair or walk up the stairs. I was unable to workout for more than three weeks. I am attempting to be more considerate with how I treat my body.
