Easing the load on the HVAC unit saves money while adding years

If you’re like me, you have been witness to just how expensive it is to live in this country these days.

There doesn’t seem to be a simple and cheap option much anymore. Like when I replaced the HVAC equipment in our home a year or so ago. I was stunned by the entire experience really. For one, I couldn’t believe how far the HVAC technology had advanced for residential HVAC. It was beyond impressive. At the same time, the cheapest model by the least recommended manufacturer was still more than three or four times what I paid for my last HVAC unit. But, I so got my money’s worth out of the old heating and cooling equipment that I really can’t complain too much. And I really made an effort to extend the life of my HVAC equipment from the very beginning all those years ago. Of course, regular HVAC maintenance was essential to the value and longevity of that HVAC unit. And when the HVAC service plan came around like 10 years ago, it made it just that much easier to get HVAC service. So the old HVAC equipment was well maintained by the HVAC professionals. But I too made a point of doing my best to ease the load on the HVAC equipment. I made sure the thermostat settings were commensurate with the outside temperature. And I was always consistent with how I used the HVAC unit as well. Easing the load on the HVAC unit really helped save me plenty on HVAC utility costs. But it also really added years to the life of that old HVAC unit.
