I have a gym membership just for weight lifting purposes

When I was in high school, we had to take physical education if we wanted to graduate.

Once I reached my sophomore year, they added a weightlifting class that we had as an alternative to traditional P.E.

classes. I was intrigued, especially since my buddies on the junior varsity football team were all set to take the course. It was a lot of fun for me because I could handle lifting weights opposed to heavy cardio. Being overweight made running and team sports difficult, but I felt like I was in my element being in the weight room. Soon I was getting better at the bench press and was doing multiple sets of curls and squats everyday. When I left for college, I had committed in my mind to using the college’s gym whenever I had time. But after four years of undergraduate school I had only used the college gym a handful of times. It wasn’t until I reached the workforce and was living like this for a few years before I took it upon myself to look at local gyms and fitness centers to get a monthly gym membership. In particular I wanted to get a gym membership so I had access to the gym’s weight room and equipment. I like to do squats and bench press in particular, but it costs way too much money to buy all of this fitness equipment to have at home. It’s a lot cheaper for me to buy a gym membership and use all of their equipment there. Not to mention there are treadmills, rowing machines, stair steppers, and ellipticals as well to use for cardio exercises. The gym membership is a good value when you consider the amenities being offered.
