I knew it had been a long time since I had changed the air filter in our air conditioner unit. When our hubby walked out on me, I didn’t know how to do the house maintenance. She did everything around the house, & she left myself and others in the dark. I didn’t know if I was angrier at him for walking out on me, or for not showing myself and others how to do the home’s maintenance. It took a couple of months before I could face anyone or anything separate from splitting down. It was another month before I found her maintenance list. At the top of the list was adjusting the air filter in the air conditioner unit, or the oil furnace. I didn’t even know there was an air filter, let alone knowing where it could be found. I called the Heating & Air Conditioning supplier & asked them if they could come to the house & show myself and others where to find the air filter in the air conditioner unit. When the Heating & Air Conditioning tech showed up the next day, she showed myself and others where to find the air filter. When she went to pull it out, I thought she got a hernia. It had been so long since the air filter had been changed that it had become blocked & lodged inside the A/C unit. I was so embarrassed,embarrassed; I was sure I looked care about I had a sunburn. The Heating & Air Conditioning tech smiled & shrugged. She told myself and others she came across this situation more often than she could count. I was sure she was fudging it, although I said thank you.
