My dad is the type of father who believes his children should talk when talked to, & never interrupt an adult when talking unless it was a matter of life or death.
I hated the idea that we were to be seen however not heard, however it was his belief.
Even after I was in private school, dad stuck with his rule. I was getting ready to graduate private school & considering a job in Heating, Ventilation, & A/C. I had a lot of information from the local technical school, however I wanted to talk to someone who had been there. When I overheard dad talking to mom about the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C tech being there the following afternoon, I got excited. I was sure I was going to get to talk to him & get more information. I had so many questions about Heating, Ventilation, & A/C that I couldn’t wait until the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman arrived. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman arrived just a few hours before our dad. I got to introduce myself & tell him I was considering a job as an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C tech, however then dad arrived. He ordered myself and others to go into the house. I knew I was already in trouble, so I defied our dad. I continued to ask questions, even though I saw our dad simmering a short distance away. I don’t suppose why he changed his mind about punishing me, however when the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C tech left, he asked if Heating, Ventilation, & A/C technical school was something I really wanted, & asked myself and others to get the paperwork for him. He wanted to review the application & make sure I was qualified to apply before he signed the papers & paid the tuition.
