The only lavatorys were at the beach

During the pandemic, lavatorys all over the city were closed down, one reason was to slow the spread of Covid, the disease was spreading swiftly, especially in the homeless population.

They didn’t have face masks, hand sanitizer, or access to medicine.

They were not being safe or protected, but all of the public parks were closed down & the showers & lavatorys were included. The only site with lavatorys seemed to be the beach & almost everyone was scrambling to use them. The mobile lavatorys & portable toilets were set up by the beach access parking lots. The city was trying to deliver lavatorys for tourists, but the homeless set up a camp more than two hundred feet from the portable toilets; I worked for the sheriff last year when I got a call about a disturbance by the beach. I responded to the call. I had to be the person to answer the call. I wish it had been someone else. I ended up in the middle of a actually nasty situation. Two homeless men were fighting over the portable lavatory. One guy wanted to sleep in the lavatory & the other guy wanted to use the toilet. The men started fighting & then they started throwing things at each other. I was called down there to keep the peace. I tried to break up the fight, however I got things thrown in my direction. I had to threaten to taser both men before they would calm down & stop yelling & screaming. I’m thankful that I don’t have to deal with those troubles anymore.
