As I step outside of Mrs. Swanson’s condo to walk across the street to Charlie’s condo I beginning to guess about why I started our own Heating, Ventilation and A/C corporation with our brother. The time I had with our family on trip was amazing and I want more of that. I don’t want to be on call to figure out what is wrong with whoever’s a/c plan or thermostat issue. I want more time with our teenagers and I want to have nights off where I don’t have to worry about being called on an emergency Heating, Ventilation and A/C issue, however what I thought about when I was on trip is that both of us need to hire 1 or more Heating, Ventilation and A/C repairmen. It’s wild that both of us have been doing this on our own for several years now and both of us don’t have another person to work under us. I method on seeing our brother tomorrow to discuss this matter because I’m exhausted. I just got back from a 2 week trip, barely put our luggage away and already have been on a call to help Mrs. Swanson. Immediately after Charlie wants me to come over and discuss a smart thermostat. I’m going to be livid if he already bought a single and expects me to install it now. It won’t take me long to install a single thought despite the fact that he constantly buys things separate from genuinely questioning why he bought whatever it is in the first place. As I walk up his stairs, I see him resting behind the screen door and he said well I already bought a smart thermostat, maybe you can take a look?

Even though I have had help with indoor comfort my whole life, I know very little about them.

I rely heavily on the internet and HVAC professionals.

I had never bothered to learn more, probably because if one gets so used to having things done for them, they lose the initiative to learn or try. My air quality system has been giving me issues for a while now. It all started when I noticed that the surfaces at my home were becoming dust very quickly. It would make weird noises, and I also noticed that part of the seal on the ductwork was damaged. I remember being shown how to clean the washable filters, but now I need help remembering how to uninstall and install an air filter. I called one of the HVAC technicians referred to me by a neighbor who had since moved states. I also included HVAC maintenance in the list of home services that I needed. The HVAC company told me the local contractor would arrive later in the afternoon. When he came, he inspected the entire HVAC unit. He then sealed the conduits and did duct cleaning. He taught me how to replace the filters to improve air quality. He then advised me on a good air purification system. My house felt like a home once more. When I invited a friend, they commented on how much the indoor comfort had improved. I was happy to hear this since I had fully invested myself, including learning new skills to help me with regular a/c care.

I just found out that there are plants that promote indoor air quality when I spoke with a friend of mine who specializes in such plants.

I had been to her place to run the HVAC maintenance on her HVAC unit when we talked about the multiple plants she has. After she explained what each plant does, I used my expertise as an HVAC professional to recommend an air purification system that would complement the plants and eliminate dust and other contaminants. The tune-up had revealed clogged air filters due to the dust around her house, and such a system would help. The ducts were covered in dirt, so much so that the sealant on the ductwork had begun coming off. The local contractor did the duct cleaning within an hour with the proper tools. I explained that an air quality system would also complement the function of her other unit by trapping the dirt that would damage the unit’s sensitive parts. To help with indoor comfort, these quality systems ensure the air is clean throughout the year. Another plus is that they need minor servicing, which allows the customer to save the cost that the HVAC company would have otherwise used to provide quality home services. I did not dismiss my friend even with the skills I have as an HVAC technician. Instead, I went to a plant shop to get suggested plants for my house. My friend also made a point to purchase the air purifier, and she says her life has changed since then. The indoor comfort has increased significantly, and the plants complement the unit’s work.

Our HVAC company was recently contracted for a staff house project.

A mining company in the city wished to create a good working environment for its staff and requested we install several air purification systems that would integrate with the existing HVAC unit.

Staff houses are near the mine, and dust from the mine tends to find its way to the house, affecting staff’s and their families’ health. The dust also interfered with the other unit’s function as dust would get into the sensitive parts of the unit. We started by running HVAC maintenance on the existing unit, which helped get rid of a lot of dust and dirt. The air filters and ducts were filthy. However, duct cleaning did not take a long time. We decided to go with HEPA filters to improve the air quality. We also checked the ductwork as we would merge the ducts from the unit with the new air quality system to help with indoor comfort. Since we were working in several houses, the project took us a week. We were exhausted by the time we completed the project. We also had to call more local contractors and HVAC technicians to join us to execute the job swiftly. The project benefited our company as we gained more referrals from word of mouth. As HVAC professionals, our mission was to provide stellar home service to all our customers at all times. The mining company was impressed by how swift our services had been, and their staff were happier now and would hopefully not suffer from the dust in their houses. Some of the referrals were people the staff knew, and we ended up providing our services to them.
