In the past, when every one of us only relied on the national grid, we’d have to go separate from a/c until the power was back. When the storm was really bad, we’d go afternoons separate from power, and believe every bit of not having A/C in the house! Only later did every one of us add the backup generator which now ensures every one of us have power and can keep the a/c running. The youngsters won’t have to complain about the house being too tepid because the A/C is off. Always try and invest in a generator if you live in an area where power goes off because of bad weather. This can be the summer time storms or Wintertide blizzards.

I’m just getting out of work.

This week has been a struggle.

I put in 62 hours in 5 days! My social life has been put on pause and I keep telling my friends I don’t have time. They want me to go to the movies or dinner. I just don’t have the time. Tonight I just want to stay home and order Chinese. My friends can wait till tomorrow but to be honest I may just take this weekend to myself. It’s disgustingly hot outside today. That reminds me to turn my air conditioning on. I’m really happy I called the HVAC company who sent out a heating and cooling technician to make sure everything is in working order as well as he installed the new digital thermostat. That is the best decision I have made in a long time. With all the stresses I have been encountering recently I’m glad that is not one of them. I only had the digital thermostat installed because my buddy Jim had one installed last summer and he showed me how amazing and easy it is to do. Today is about 85 degrees so I’m going to set my a/c to 67 degrees. I think that would be a good number for today. I think tonight will be a murder mystery documentary kind of night on tv. I’m not sure how long I’ll even get into that as well because I can see myself falling asleep by 7:30 pm tonight. I really hope no one calls me because I’m not going to answer my phone. Now for the 45 minute ride home.

I have been holding off doing laundry for far too long.

The thing is that I have to pack it up and either walk 2 miles down the road with it, ask a friend to take me or call a rideshare service.

I’m lazy and this to me is a lot of work. I wish I took the time to wash my clothes more often or I could afford a washer and dryer. So many things in the last year have gone wrong for me. My girlfriend broke up with me, I lost my job and I had to find a new place to live. There are other things as well but those are the major ones I have. This place I moved into has its fair share of issues as well although the landlord said they are having repairs done within the month. I only moved here without it being finished because I needed a place as soon as possible or I’d be on the streets. There are some holes in the wall from the former tenant, the oven doesn’t work, the a/c conditioning is broken. The boiler needs repairs so I have cold water currently. The HVAC company is sending out one of their heating and cooling technicians at the end of the week so that’s a plus. Currently I borrowed my buddies portable space heater to help keep the place warm. I’m not going to complain really because I know the situation I got myself into. I’m just really happy I found a place to live in. Fall is here and the temperatures are dropping so having a roof over my head is a plus.
