Last week, a modern girl in the neighborhood called to have her natural gas furnace diagnosed… She had just bought the house and wanted to make sure the natural gas furnace was in superb condition before she turned it on.

The Heating, Ventilation plus A/C owner that manages our company was the single who went out and did the inspection on her house.

She had evaluated the natural gas furnace, air conditioner unit, and HVAC duct. She told her she needed to have the natural gas furnace cleaned and diagnosed before could be used. When she came back into the office, she told us about this easily gorgeous woman that had moved into the house. She told her she was single, and if she wasn’t married, she would be the first person knocking at her door to do the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C services. There were several of us in the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company who were all single, and all several of us raced over to the dispatcher to take that service call. She tossed a coin in the air and said heads or tails. Two of us chose heads and two chose tails, so it took several more tosses of the coin. I chose heads, which left tails, for our coworker. I was crestfallen when our coworker won the last toss. I wasn’t so frustrated when she came back to tell us about this attractive woman. She said she was in her 50s, and however she was still pretty, it wasn’t worth winning the coin toss for. She said she would place odds that Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tech was going on a date with that pretty woman, because she was no older than 25.

When the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tech told me I needed a more modern natural gas furnace, I knew I couldn’t afford it. She started giving me suggestions on a more modern natural gas furnace, and when I saw the prices, I almost cried. There was no way I could find the funding for the modern natural gas furnace when it was going to cost me over $5000. While all of us were discussing the price, she told me they have some used natural gas furnaces I may be interested in. I couldn’t figure out why anyone would buy a used gas furnace. She said that the natural gas furnace is where gently used, which meant they were brand modern and delivered to the wrong person, or someone didn’t want it. She said they seldom sell a used gas furnace, that is more than a-year-old. They refurbish the natural gas furnace and put it back to original modern condition. The price of the refurbished/used natural gas furnace was almost half the price of a brand-new gas furnace. I asked how long it was going to take before the natural gas furnace could be delivered and installed, and she told me they could do it within an afternoon or two. I was happy that I could have the gas furnace by the end of the weekend, but I still had the problem of coming up with the payment. The Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tech explained they could give me a free upgrade, and if I was still sad about the cost, she could contact the local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company and see if I was eligible for a repayment plan. After asking me how much I could pay each month, she got in touch with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company. Three afternoons later, our natural gas furnace was being delivered and installed.

Even though it was only fifty degrees outside last night, it was too hot to sleep.

I spent half the night tugging the covers and sheets off our legs and the rest of the night just throwing them on the floor.

I was so exhausted after working all day that all I wanted to do was go to my beachside house and go to sleep. I didn’t pay attention to how hot the house was, but now I wish I did. I kept hearing the natural gas furnace running, but I thought some of that was in our sleep. When I finally climbed out of bed, it was 78° our kitchen, and even warmer in the residing area. The natural gas furnace had to been running all night long, nonstop. I knew I had to call a Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company, but I also knew that I only had a few minutes until I had to go to work. I called our associate and asked her if I contacted the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company, would she please come over when she saw the service van pull into our driveway? She said to just give her the time when the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker would arrive, and she would happily come over to the house. I called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company, who said they could send someone between 12 and 3 PM. I walked over to our neighbor’s house and gave her the key to our house. The way the temperatures are going up our house, I easily hope the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker shows up and repairs our natural gas furnace before I get home. I don’t want another sleepless night.

Most of our friends complain that they are cold and they can’t even get hot in bed.

I am just the opposite.

I can’t get cool enough. I normally keep our feet and legs out from under the blankets. I place our hands on top of the blankets, or I begin to sweat. My hubby Ed is continually complaining because I pull covers off him when I flip them off. Where most people are seeking better heating in the winter, I would adore to have a bed that cools me down. Can you imagine being able to press 1 button and have the air conditioner come up through the mattress? Mattresses now offer heat and massage. My hubby recliner offers heat and massage. My question is this – what happens when someone wants cooling air without massage? Give me a bed that offers a cooling feature and not just in the pillowcases and the sheets. Trust me when I say that these do not work. Cooling sheets and pillowcases are cooler because of how they are made, however in the middle of the night, I still believe I have a blast gas furnace blowing over me. I want to know that the air conditioner is blowing over me, so I can sleep like a baby. I think it sounds silly to want an air conditioner in the middle of winter, but I particularly don’t. I just want to be comfy while I sleep, and there should be some way for Ed to have her heat and I have our cooling.

When the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker arrived to talk to me about a modern natural gas furnace, she was talking about all the parts that kept our natural gas furnace running efficiently.

She talked about the combustion chamber, the heat exchanger and the blower motor.

I knew what a blower motor was. That was the part that pushed the heat into the HVAC ducts. I also knew what the air filter compartment was because I often changed my air filter. The thermocouple and manifold had me just as lost as when she said about the combustion chamber, but I could suss that out. The more that she talked, the more boggled our mind was getting. It was like listening to the dentist tell you what they were going to do while in the middle of surgery, and you were already groggy from the drugs. I asked our Ed if she would explain, since she was listening raptly. Ed told me to wait a couple minutes, and she would explain after the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker left, however Ed and I ordered our natural gas furnace, and I sat through it all! After the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker left, I asked Ed to explain what all the things were that she had been talking about. She explained about the combustion chamber, the blower motor, and the air filter, which I already knew. I questioned him about the other stuff. Ed laughed and said she did not know, however the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker made it sound so pressing. I don’t remember having laughed so hard in quite some time. Ed finally shrugged and said if she were a Heating, Ventilation plus A/C worker, she could answer our questions. Ed said she was as confused as I was.

When the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tech arrived last time, I was already prepared for him to say I needed a more modern gas furnace! I had been having repair after repair made over the last couple years, and I didn’t think that the gas furnace could handle any more work.

I knew our purse couldn’t handle anymore repairs.

I wasn’t sure that our purse would handle the cost of a modern gas furnace either, however if I had to purchase a single 1, I would find the money. It wasn’t even that money was the issue with buying the more modern gas furnace. The issue was that I wouldn’t get another gas furnace like the single 1 I had. This gas furnace had served me well for the last twenty-three years. I enjoyed the heat it offered me, and I liked how quietly it ran. The only thing I didn’t like was how much money it cost me in repairs for the last two years. I’m pretty sure that money could have gone for a down payment on a more modern gas furnace, and covered a hefty chunk of the cost; My hubby said all of us had to bite the bullet and put out the money, however I needed to find the perfect gas furnace for our home. I wanted energy efficiency, and I wanted a single 1 that would be quiet. I’m not sure I particularly knew what I wanted other than that, however it needed to be as trustworthy as our outdated gas furnace, and I wasn’t sure that was possible. I’m going to leave the decision on the new gas furnace to our hubby; He constantly has a superb head for making lavish purchases.
