We went on multiple dates and now we’re official
Before meeting my current bestie at a group physical training class at my local gym, I was single for multiple years straight. There were multiple relationships in my early twenties that soured myself and others on being affectionateally involved with anyone. In multiple ways this was great because it forced myself and others to work on myself for a change, and I genuinely believe I improved somewhat as a person because of that time being alone. Going to therapy for multiple months helped as well, as it forced myself and others to analyze the way I perceive my own thoughts and how I regulate my emotions. When I started going to my current gym, I was only interested in losing weight and getting healthier. I wanted to get back to weightlifting again and maybe run on a treadmill or use an elliptical. When the fitness center started offering yoga classes as well, I knew I made the right decision signing up for a gym membership. Then I started taking group physical training classes, starting with cross fit. It was in a group pilates class where I finally met my bestie. We both had t-shirts on that afternoon from the same band and right away started bonding over songs. The conversation lasted until both of us were ready to leave the gym and head home, at which point both of us exchanged iPhone numbers and then started talking back and forth for weeks. We went on multiple dates and now we’re official. I have to thank my local gym and their group physical training classes for meeting my current partner. It’s well worth the money I spend on my gym membership!
