I feel like this winter weather is making me more tired than normal.

• I always thought it was the heat that made me tired, especially after living in the south during the summertime, but the cold can also make me tired as well.

I guess it is the body using more energy than normal to keep the internal temperature constant, or something along those lines. I am not going to fight my natural instincts though and I will just sleep more and rest my body. This past summer was really hot and it actually feels nice to not have to run the AC all of the time as the natural climate control system of the earth is doing it for me. I run the heat a little bit but only for about 20 minutes a day as it is way too expensive to run all day long. If I just run the heat in the morning the house seems to retain the heat and stay in the comfortable zone for me. I don’t think my power bills will be too crazy from running the furnace for 20 minutes a day. I guess I will find out when the power bill comes in another few weeks. We are coming up in December and the temps are going to get a lot colder so I am going to have to wear more clothes in the house to avoid running the central heating device too often. I will be heading back to the States next month so at least my central HVAC system will get a break then.

I was so cold after my morning swim this morning that I was forced to turn on the heating for 15 minutes.

• That will probably set me back about $75 but I really needed it seeing my hands were kind of blue.

A lot of people think I’m bananas for going in the ice cold sea each morning as they see me a lot of times coming home shaking from the cold. I feel that the cold dips actually help my immune system get stronger and help me ward off more diseases, as I never get sick any more. I actually don’t run my central heating system when I sleep at night and keep my window open in my bedroom with my fan on. I feel like my body likes these cold temps as it helps heal my painful joints. I think the cold water is the best though. I turn the heating on in my flat after my swims and then I don’t need it on anymore as my home is really energy efficient with all of the good windows and insulation this place has. I had someone update this place a couple of years ago to make it better at keeping the heat and cold inside during the harsh climates. It was an HVAC tech if I am not mistaken and he was really good at sealing up the place and making it a lot more energy efficient. The windows are all gas filled double panes and the attic has a ton of insulation in it. I’m very happy I hired an HVAC pro.

Today is like one of those cram sessions in college where you would study like crazy for long periods of time to make up the time you wasted partying in the clubs. I wasted my time, not in clubs, but staring at my computer screen trying to get my cold wallet set up. I am now packing two days of work into one day, but I am getting the job done at a good clip. I have to write nine more HVAC unit articles about things like commercial air conditioning systems and quality AC service, and then I am done and life will be good once again. Next month is December and I am trying to earn a bit more than normal because I am flying back to the states for three weeks. I won’t have a nice air conditioned rental car like last time though because it costs way too much money to do so. I could have bought a car and dunked it in the sea when I left and still saved more money than renting a car for two months. I think the local business charged me like $4000 for two months’ rent of a car that I wasn’t too proud to be seen in. Oh well, I’ll make more money at the air conditioning repair service job where I work and just pile it up in the bank. I think I can get some rides from my family and friends while there and just eat food from the grocery store to save on that. It all works out fine.

I kind of put a bit too much money in cryptos and didn’t save any for myself

My workday is a bit shorter than most but I think the work is pretty intense. I’ve been working part time since leaving the corporate world in November of 1999, maybe averaging about 15 hours a week since then. I can’t really save a lot of money with this type of workload but I do have a heck of a lot of free time on my hands. This coming month of December is going to be extra tricky as I am flying home for the holidays and have very little money to do so. I think this heat pump service tech is going to move in the middle of December and that should just be in time to save me. She works in town here and would be a great roommate to have, it also will really help alleviate the financial burden I have been feeling from living in a big flat all by myself. Once she moves in then we will also be set with HVAC repairs and any other problems that may come up with my climate control system. I will then be a lot more at ease each month when it comes time to pay the bills. I kind of put a bit too much money in cryptos and didn’t save any for myself. I’ll make it, I just can’t go running the heating and cooling like crazy anymore because the rates have gone through the roof and into the stratosphere. How are we supposed to stay warm during a cold winter if we can’t run our heat regularly?

I am working till about 4pm today and then I will take a short nap before my bandmate comes by to grab the sound equipment. It is going to be a busy day with HVAC equipment articles and whatnot. I have to get this done and am just pushing my way through the work little by little and it seems to be getting done! There isn’t anything going on outside that I am missing as most of the local businesses are closed during the daytime on weekdays like today. I have about three more hours to go to work and then I can rest my eyeballs a bit. My new contractor friend and bandmate really wants to practice some so we had better do it today because it has been a week since we last played. I just didn’t sleep a lot thinking about cryptos but I will take a short nap and recharge my batteries. A shot of espresso couldn’t hurt later on either! I want to drop by the home services store tomorrow to look at some of their new air quality systems and get some help with a few energy saving tips from the HVAC pros. Winter is now here and I want to know how to save money on my heating bills for the winter and also see if they have any small units I could buy. I think if I got a geothermal heat pump installed in my HVAC system I could run the heat a lot more and not worry so much about the high bills.

I think I was thinking too positively when our furnace broke down.

I wasn’t ready to pay the price that came with a new furnace.

I was particular that if I had a new space oil furnace for every room, I wouldn’t need a new furnace. I thought our father was going to have apoplexy when I told him this. He said that without the furnace, our pipes could freeze and I would have a greater mess than I could imagine. He had me picturing icicles hanging off the light fans, and the walls. When he said I wasn’t far off, I started back peddling on our system of space heaters. He told me to be smart and not cheap. If I needed a new furnace, I should purchase one, and if I was upset about the cost, he and mom could help me out. He knew I was nice for the money, now that I was a lawyer. Whenever he disagreed with something I was going to do, he always reminded me how smart I was so I would realize I was making a stupid decision. I called the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier he advocated and told them about the furnace. They agreed that I needed a new furnace, however they could not have it ordered and installed before the holidays. Both of us had less than many weeks, although I was hoping, and now those hopes were dashed. Both of us talked more about the new furnace, and our father gave his input. By the time the Heating and Air Conditioning specialist left, I had ordered our furnace, and he promised to try to get the upgrade within a week. He didn’t want me to go without heat over the holidays, especially if I was going to buy space heaters.
