Instead, he wanted to order 2000 bees and the beehives to house them. He was talking to a beekeeper that lived in our local area. He told him he lost nearly 20% of his bees during delivery. Whenever the truck driver stopped, bees would escape, and they didn’t come back to the beehives. When my husband said he might order more bees, I put my foot down. One beehive to start was enough, and I would not have my entire backyard filled with them. Instead of lowering the amount of honey bees he was ordering, he simply canceled the order. He wanted everything or nothing, and I was happy with that decision.
