Going cheap does more harm than good

Our Dad used to always tell us that you get what you spend money for.

What he meant by this was that it does not always spend money to be cheap.

In fact it often does more harm than good to people. Well, after spending our early twenties not following our father’s advice, we have finally turned the corner and now spend money a little more for services in order to stop the cycle of regret paying less for terrible service. Our most recent example of this would have to be when we had a problem pop up with our Heating and Air Conditioning plan and had to have an Heating and Air Conditioning expert out here. One of the things that surprised us when the Heating and Air Conditioning woman eventually came out to our house was the fact that they managed to come out on the same afternoon. While it was simple that the price for them to service Heating plus Air Conditioning systems was cheap, what wasn’t mentioned in the ad we saw from them is the fact that they do a terrible job so you have to call them in a few afternoons to come out and try and service the problem yet again. It took us several visits before we realized that this shady Heating and Air Conditioning company was playing with us to get our money. If we would have simply gone with a more reputable Heating and Air Conditioning company. We’d have saved so much money and not have this headache to deal with from all of the stress. It was a difficult pill to swallow however trust us, we will no longer split corners to save a few pennies ever again.

Money well spent on my furnace

My mom used to always tell me that you get what you pay for.

What she meant by this was that it doesn’t always pay to be cheap, in fact it often does more harm than good to the individual.

Well, after spending my early twenties not following my mothers advice I have finally turned the corner and now pay a little more for services in order to stop the cycle of regret paying less for bad service. My most recent example of this would have to be when I had a problem pop up with my HVAC system and had to have an HVAC tech out here. One of the things that surprised me when the HVAC guy eventually came out to my house was the fact that they were able to come out on the same day. While it was true that the price for them to service HVAC systems was cheap, what wasn’t mentioned in the ad I saw from them is the fact that they do a poor job so you have to call them in a few days to come out and try and fix the problem yet again. It took me four visits before I realized that this shady HVAC company was playing with me to get my money. If I would have simply gone with a more reputable HVAC company I would have actually saved so much money and not have this headache to deal with from all of the stress. This was a tough pill to swallow but trust me, I will no longer cut corners to save a few pennies ever again!

Be aware of scam ridden AC enterprises out there

One of the things that I’m not fond of about owning a lake house is the fact that I’m always the one in charge of getting things sorted out.

If I spill a drink on the carpet, I am the one that has to get the stain out.

If I need something to eat, I am the one who has to go cook in the kitchen. Well, the other morning my Heating and A/C system was making a funny noise on me. This was the first time I had an issue since I moved in. I was the one to reach out to an Heating and A/C company for assistance and wasn’t happy with what transpired. When I first called over for help this ancient lady answered and was not accommodating. Eventually, after answering lots of questions, she booked me to have a Heating and A/C professional come out to my lake house for 2pm the time slot. 2pm rolls around the next day, and no one shows up. I called at around 2:30 to see if there was any miscommunication, and all I got was a voicemail! Then more than one days later while I am out with friends I get another call from the rude Heating and A/C receptionist who tells me that they have an Heating and A/C tech at my lake house who has been waiting for me to answer the door. When I told her this wasn’t the time that we picked out, she said she would be canceling the appointment unless I was willing to spend money on a fee for being “late” to my own appointment. I have never blocked a company’s number and found a upgradement so fast. Be aware of these scam ridden Heating and A/C enterprises stealing from people.

Zeina had to reach out to the AC business for assistance

Being a beach home owner isn’t all fun and games for Zeina.

She doesn’t like being responsible for getting things fixed.

If she spills soup on the carpet, Zeina is the one that has to get the stain out. If she needs to get food, Zeina is the one who has to get the fridge stocked up. A week ago, Zeina’s Heating, Ventilation and A/C system was faulty for the first time since she moved in. Because of this Zeina had no choice but to reach out to an Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician for assistance. Her experience was awful. When she first called over for help this aged lady answered and was less than peasant. After some back and forth, she booked Zeina to have a Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician come out to her beach house for 1pm the time slot. 1pm rolls around the next day, and no one shows up. Zeina gives them a call at around 1:30 to see if there was any miscommunication, and all she gets is a voicemail. Two days later while at work, Zeina gets another call from the rude Heating, Ventilation and A/C receptionist who tells her that they have an Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician at her beach house who has been waiting for her to answer the door. When she told her this wasn’t the time that they both picked out, she said she would be canceling the appointment unless Zeina was willing to spend money and pay a fee for being “late” to her own appointment. Zeina has never blocked a business’s number and searched for a different AC business so fast. Be aware of these scam ridden Heating, Ventilation and A/C companies out there!

Kevin’s AC unit stopped working for the very first time

There are some things that Kevin doesn’t like about owning a cabin.

He loathes the fact that he’s the one responsible for getting things fixed.

If he spills wine on the carpet, Kevin is the one that has to get the stain out. If he needs groceries, he’s the one who has to get the fridge stocked up. Well, the other morning Kevin’s Heating & Air Conditioning system shut off for the first time since he bought the place. Since the unit wouldn’t start, Kevin had to reach out to an Heating and Air Conditioning business for assistance and a bad experience. When he first called over for help this ancient man answered and was quite rude. After some chatter, he booked Kevin to have an Heating and Air Conditioning worker come out to his cabin for 3 pm the time slot. 3 pm rolls around the next day, and Kevin hears nothing. He tries to call back at around 3:30 to see if there was any miscommunication, and his call goes straight to voicemail. A week later while he’s out with friends, Kevin gets another call from the rude Heating and Air Conditioning receptionist who tells him that they have an Heating and Air Conditioning worker at his cabin who has been waiting for him to answer the door. When Kevin told him this wasn’t the time that he picked out, he said he would be canceling the appointment unless he was willing to pay a fee for being “late” to his own appointment. Kevin has never jammed a business number and found a replacement so fast. Be aware of these scam ridden Heating & Air Conditioning companies out there.

We don’t like being responsible for everything that needs fixing

Among the things that we dislike the most about owning a condo is the fact that we’re always the ones responsible for getting things fixed.

If we spill wine on the carpet, we’re the ones that have to get the stain out.

If we need groceries, we’re the ones who have to get the fridge stocked up. Well, the other day our HVAC system broke down on us for the first time since we moved. Because of this, we were forced to reach out to an HVAC supplier for assistance and had a pretty annoying experience. When we first called over for help this lady answered and was quite rude. After some chatter she booked us to have an HVAC specialist come out to our condo for 2pm the time slot. 2pm rolls around the next day, we hear nothing. We try to call them at around 2:30 to see if there was any miscommunication, and all we get is a voicemail. Then 2 days later while we’re out with friends we get another call from the rude HVAC receptionist who tells us that they have an HVAC tech at our condo who has been waiting for us to answer the door. When we told her this wasn’t the time that we picked out, she said she would be canceling the appointment unless we were willing to pay a fee for being “late” to our own appointment! We have never deleted a company’s number and found a replacement so fast. Be aware of these scam ridden HVAC companies out there!
