Working in a bank has been my lifelong dream and fortunately, I achieved it. I started out working in a startup then grew with the company and it was able to absorb a smaller bank. I have since been working in the same bank for almost a decade now. It had been a week since the air conditioner had broken down. I did not look forward to work because of the heat that threatened to melt us all through the day. Because of security, the windows were not built to open, so we were roasting in there. The a/c service team finally came at the end of that week and in the afternoon. They asked us questions concerning the air conditioner installation and the a/c care plan we had if any. This was to determine the issue and facilitate the a/c repair. We had done a pretty good job keeping up with the a/c care at the bank. We had a schedule with the local air conditioning company that entailed them sending an a/c representative every six months to run a simple tune-up on the system. There had been a power surge earlier that week that I suspected had caused the issue. True to my suspicion, a sensitive component on the system was fried. One of the a/c workers went to get the replacements from the local air conditioning supplier to complete the air conditioning maintenance. After about three hours, our system was as good as a new air conditioning unit. Even the air quality increased significantly. Thanks to the efficient air conditioning business, the indoor comfort of the banking hall was fully restored.

If there is something I have learned, it’s always expecting some kind of obstacle.

I used to think that if I planned hard enough, that all of my issues would be resolved.

That is unfortunately not true, although it can reduce the likelihood of problems, it can’t get rid of all of them. A nice little example is what happened a few weeks ago. For the past year, I was saving up for a cruise. I wanted to be picky on what cruise I went on, so while I was saving, I was taking my time deciding. I was almost at 3k saved for a cruise, and the one I was interested in was around that amount for my kids and I. I had already taken work off for the selected days, and just when I was about to book it, my air conditioner started having issues. I had a heating and cooling repairman look at it, but it was in bad shape. Admittedly, I never had the A/C equipment looked at, so I had no idea what kind of condition it was in. The HVAC serviceman told me it would be better to just get a new one, which took a fair amount of my cruise money away. I used the days off that I had to have the HVAC installation, and my kids were pretty disappointed. Although this delayed us for a few months, it’s not like it’s the end of the world. We will still be going, it will just take a little longer. So that is the lesson I learned, and that there will always be obstacles to overcome, even if you plan everything really well.

I feel like space heating systems get a bad reputation, when really, they are not all that bad.

• In fact, I have a space furnace and I love mine! I have always been sensitive to cold, and even though I have a central HVAC system, it has never warmed me as much as it should.

I started looking for solutions, and that is when I heard about area heaters. I was immediately interested, but when I told my mother about it, she was immediately against the idea. Apparently she had an area furnace sometime back, and it almost caught on fire! She came in to find it smoking from the outlet and unplugged it before it caused a fire. She warned me to never get a portable heating unit, but I didn’t listen. I did my research first of course, and after asking my mother a few more questions, I realized she was doing some things wrong, and that probably caused the fire. She had two main issues, one, she left the space heating unit on all of the time, and left it unattended. Two, she plugged it in using an extension cord. All of the above it specifically warns you not to do, and so after carefully reading the safety instructions I bought my heating unit, and I have yet to have any issues. I absolutely love my heating device, and it makes me feel bad for anyone who is scared of getting one just because of the stories they’ve heard. I mean, there are horror stories for everything, but as long as you take precaution, you should be fine.

It had been awhile since I had been on vacation, and I wanted to go all out, and that included the hotels I planned on staying at.

I decided to stay at a 5 star hotel, and I expected nothing but exceptional service.

Before that, I was used to staying in 2 star hotels, and one of the most common issues I had was with the heating and A/C. Always some kind of issue with the cooling or heating unit in the hotel. But I was glad, with a 5 star hotel, I was not going to be experiencing that issue. I checked into the hotel, and it felt great. I settled down into bed and quickly fell asleep. When I woke up, I felt sick, and it was pretty obvious as to why. It was extremely hot in that room! I felt close to dying, and I had to get out of there. I don’t know what was wrong with the furnace system, but even though I had never turned it on, it magically turned itself on and to extreme heat! I complained to the front desk, and they apologized profusely for the experience. I was switched to a much better room that was bigger, and actually had a functioning HVAC component, and not one that was going to turn itself on whenever it decided to. After that, my vacation went as planned, and I enjoyed getting room service at the hotel. No more issues involving the HVAC technology, but even without issues, I still couldn’t help but to be disappointed at the fact that I still experience heating and air conditioning issues at a 5 star hotel.

It was around 6th grade when I started learning an instrument, and that instrument was piano.

• The teacher I had wasn’t good at all, he barely taught me anything.

But it was too late, I already loved playing the piano, even though when starting out, the sounds I made resembled a cat stepping on the piano. I knew my sister had a keyboard I could practice on, so once I was out of that class I was practicing at home. My mom noticed this and got me a piano teacher, who was much much better than my last one. My piano class took place in a large and mostly peaceful building. Almost always, I enjoyed my lessons. Except for last week, last week was utterly miserable. When I went into the building, I noticed immediately how extremely hot it was. I immediately requested air conditioning. My teacher sighed and told me he had been asked that 3 times today. The A/C machine wasn’t on because it was broken. My teacher continued by telling me he almost didn’t come in today, when he heard about the HVAC equipment being broken, and they already had 4 cancellations in lessons. It was apparently the last lesson of the day. I tried to focus, but I could feel the sweat beading on my forehead, a very gross feeling. I did horrible things thanks to the lack of air conditioning, but thankfully my teacher didn’t blame me. We were both thankful to be done at the end of the day.

These air filters were good as new and not ever been used or had any factory defects to them.

I was out the other day shopping in a store that sold mainly carpets and you would not believe what I came across. In the same exact store I found that they had HEPA air filters for sale! What a store that sold carpeting was doing with air filters for a central heating and air conditioning system is beyond me, but the prices were really decent on them. So while I was there I decided to pick a few packs of these HEPA air filters up. With these kind of air filters they actually last a little longer than your standard air filters. So in the long term this will save me some money in not having to buy air filters for a little while. The last thing I expected was to find something related to central heating and air conditioning systems here. But I am actually so glad I did. You can not get HEPA air filters for this cheap anywhere else. It made me wonder if there may have been something wrong with them, but there wasn’t. These air filters were good as new and not ever been used or had any factory defects to them. I hope that this carpeting store continues to sell the HEPA air filters for my central heating and air conditioning system. Because I will keep coming back here time and time again until they do not sell them any longer. This is a little secret that I will not tell people I know about. Because if they knew what I knew they would all come down here and buy up all the HEPA air filters!
