My husband and I graduated from high school the same year.
We’ve been married for nearly 35 years, and couldn’t be more different.
I am a bit compulsive with how tidy & clean I keep the house & my vehicle. My husband is messy & his truck is overrun with empty take-out containers, tools, loose change & all sorts of debris. I have been a vegetarian for many years. I also avoid caffeine, processed foods & don’t smoke. My husband’s favorite meal is steak. He drinks lots of coffee & pop, and he smokes over a pack of cigarettes per day. I am very dedicated to my health & fitness. Along with eating healthy, I make sure to drink lots of water & get sufficient sleep. I head to bed & get up at the same time every day. I set my alarm early so I can get the most benefit and productivity from my day. First thing in the morning, I begin with a 60 minute workout. I focus heavily on stretching & flexibility. I’m 56 years-old, but I can still manage splits, handstands and cartwheels. I can easily reach down and touch my toes with straight legs. I lift hand weights & go through sets of lunges, squats, crunches, jumps & mountain climbers. I like to go on lengthy runs & bike rides. I really enjoy jumping rope. I am close to the exact weight I was in my mid twenties. My husband likes to stay up late at night & then sleeps until the afternoon. He is busy once he is up & moving. He doesn’t take good care of himself. He won’t stretch or workout in any fashion. I can’t even convince him to take a walk with me. He frequently complains about pain in her knees, hips & back. I blame his lack for stretching.
